How it works

1

Fill in the details

Enter your business info, the customer's details, and add line items with HSN/SAC codes and GST rates — the same fields a GST compliant bill needs.

2

Automatic GST invoicing

The tool compares your state to your customer's state and automatically applies CGST+SGST or IGST, matching standard GST rules — no manual tax math.

3

Download or print your GST bill

Export a clean PDF, print directly, or share the amount due via WhatsApp or email — no account required at any step.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this GST invoice generator really free?

Yes. There is no paid tier, no account, and no invoice limit. It runs entirely in your browser and costs nothing to use.

Do I need to sign up or log in?

No. There is no account system at all. Open the page, fill in the invoice, and download the PDF.

Is my business data sent to a server?

No. Every calculation and the PDF itself are generated locally in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted anywhere.

How does it decide between CGST+SGST and IGST?

It compares your business state to your customer's state. If they match, tax is split into CGST and SGST. If they differ, it's charged as IGST, matching standard GST rules for intra-state versus inter-state supply.

Can I add my company logo to the invoice?

Yes. Upload a PNG or JPEG under 1.5MB and it appears on both the on-screen preview and the downloaded PDF.

Does it save my business details for next time?

Optionally. If you leave "Remember these details" checked, your business profile is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device only, not on any server.

Can I see a GST bill sample before I start?

Yes — the live preview on the right updates as you type, so it works as a running GST bill sample. Fill in a few fields and you'll see exactly what the downloaded PDF will look like before you commit to anything.

Is a GST invoice the same as e-invoicing under GST?

No, and this is a common mix-up. E-invoicing under GST is a separate government system: businesses above a certain turnover threshold must register each invoice on the official Invoice Registration Portal to get an IRN and QR code before it's legally valid. GSTFox generates a standard GST invoice — it does not connect to the government e-invoice portal or generate an IRN. If e-invoicing applies to your business, use the official portal, or GST-compliant software that integrates with it, for those specific invoices.

Is a GSTFox invoice GST compliant?

It includes the fields a GST-compliant tax invoice needs: your GSTIN, the customer's details, HSN/SAC codes, itemized tax rates, and the CGST/SGST or IGST breakup. It's built for standard invoicing — if your business falls under the mandatory e-invoicing threshold, see the question above.

Do you offer a GST invoice template in Excel format?

Not currently — GSTFox exports directly to a finished PDF rather than an editable spreadsheet. That's intentional: a PDF can't accidentally end up with a broken formula or an outdated tax rate sitting in a cell. If you specifically need an editable GST invoice template in Excel, a spreadsheet-based template is a better fit than this tool.

Do I need to install any GST billing software?

No. GSTFox isn't a downloadable program — it runs directly in your web browser, so there's nothing to install and nothing tying you to one computer. Open the page on any device with a browser and it works the same way.

Can I add my GST number to the bill?

Yes. Enter your GSTIN in the business details panel and it appears on both the live preview and the exported PDF, along with your customer's GSTIN if they have one.
